Your brakes and handbrake can be used to correct your drift and keep you on the road. And Alternate between a left and a right drift to keep yourself on the road on the straights. So when the corner opens out into a gentler curve or into a straight, up shift, and floor it. When you shift to a higher gear it pulls the car out into a straighter trajectory. Shifting to a lower gear will tighten your line and is best used for tighter corners where you want the drift to hug tighter. Mid corner control can be done through gear choice (yes you need to use a manual to drift well) and the use of both your brakes and hand brake. This will reduce grip in the rear wheels and cause you to swing out. If you want to go even more advanced, initiate with a load transfer to the front by lightly tapping the brakes while turning.
